A tribute to the longest serving US President, the Roosevelt dime is often overlooked by Collectors. When Roosevelt died in 1945, the mint rushed to come up with a new commemorative design to replace the Mercury dime that had been in use for almost 30 years. After several revisions, the Roosevelt dime began production the following year.
